The right pumpkin

Regarding the pumpkin choice, there are two options: Choose a giant pumpkin for a particularly impressive pumpkin face, then there is much excavation work and material for the compost, because the meat is not very tasty. Should be from the inside a delicious pumpkin dish, are smaller, but tasty pumpkins like the Hokkaido better.

Hat off and hollow out

Cut a sufficiently large lid off the pumpkin top. Then the meat is hollowed out. For example, this is a task for children who are less comfortable with the knife. Durable with sawdust

To keep the pumpkin as long as possible, it can be sprinkled inside with sawdust. This absorbs the moisture. An untreated pumpkin will last about 14 days outdoors depending on the weather. Then he starts to rot.

The pumpkin lighting

The pumpkin does not become a Halloween shocker until it is put in the right light. This works best with a candle, which is placed in the pumpkin in a lantern. As a result, the flame is protected from the wind. Alternatively, electric tealights or fairy lights can be used to illuminate the interior.

Pumpkin is - depending on the variety - a tasty and healthy vegetables, even if the pumpkin actually belongs to the berries. You can make your pumpkin delicious with a tasty potato pumpkin puree or a pumpkin pizza.
