An educator that touches the heart
A teacher can teach but may not touch the heart.
Everyone can choose to teach but no everyone can make the impactful difference unless one chooses to.
I believe there are many great teachers who have chosen teaching because they want to make a difference in the lives of the young ones that are under them.
Below is a touching story of a mother who had to withdraw his son from his education due to her husband losing his job.
As a pregnant mother, she tried to teach her son at home but there is always guilt when she saw the desire of her son to study in a school.
As a mother, she gathered her courage and approached Mdm Siti from the school.
Through Mdm Siti, her son received financial help to continue his studies.
His mother, who saw the passion of Mdm Siti as a teacher, also took up the job as an educator to impact the lives of the young ones later on.
One at a time
I have mentioned before and I would like to mention again that teachers may not be able to help everyone but we can help one at a time.
We can help each child that comes along our way to groom and give the child a chance of a better future.
We may just be the turning point of the child if we choose to provide the child the education that he needs.
Many of us become the parent figures that are lacking in their respective homes especially their parents may be in prisons and out of sight.
They may not have a loving home but they can find comfort in school from a caring teacher.
Teachers cannot create miracles but we can aim to make a difference in every child positively.
Gather the needed help
There are many cases of child abuse nowadays in this current society.
Teachers play an important role as we are the closest to these children beside their related family members at home.
When they are mistreated at home, we are the ones that they can turn to.
The physical marks of abuse cannot be ignored and we must take active actions to fight against child abuse.
We are also the ones who can initiate additional help when there are financial difficulties. We can always speak to our principals and different organisations available to provide the financial assistance for our students who are in need.
We do what we can within our reach and let them feel that there is someone who cares for them.
Actions speak louder than words
Teachers should not simply enter the classroom to teach but we must take active actions to show our care and concern to every child.
Ignite passion in them to learn through engaging activities. Let our passion to teach ignite their passion to learn.
When our children want to learn, there is nothing that can stop them from overcoming their future challenges.
Learning must become part of them.
In Conclusion
We may feel we have only done a little but we may have just touched the heart of the receiver.
Teachers are natural givers and we should never complain that our students are taking too much from us.
We become teachers to impact these lives under us. Without students, there would not be a need for teachers.
