Education within steemit journey

A young graduate may exclaim excitedly that he/she has completed his/her education.

The fact is the real-life education has just started. Society is another education that none of us can escape. Some who do not have the mental capacity result in depression.

I have joined steemit for about 7 months now. I did not have any mentor nor did I rely on any whales to give me a push.

I sailed through my journey for many months without any strong support from anyone as an individual but now I have immersed myself within different communities.

I am going to share some thoughts and reflections as I felt impressed to do so.

Content vs Social relationship in a virtual world

I cannot deny the fact that writing good content is really important as many senior and experienced members may have kept ringing this bell.

The brutal fact is you can write a lengthy great content but no one notice your great work.

Frustration and discouragement are not your best friend.

Some may even be so angry and bitter to the point that they shut their ears and start to do nasty things like downvoting articles without a reason.

This is a platform of dreams for a passive income by many who had dreams. Don't forget your dream but it is important to be realistic as well.

Perhaps you may have been told that determination is needed so you continue to write 100 articles followed by 1000 articles.

The result of 1000 articles may still be discouraging for many especially someone just highlighted that your image cannot be used when you did not state the image source.

I agree that writing good content is important but we cannot neglect the need for social relationship.

I have seen authors with little content but get great upvotes. These authors are able to establish the right network to enable them to have their articles noticed even though it may not necessary be as good as what a minnow may have written.

Do you have the influence and network to promote your good written content?

Establishing good relationship is not just about people giving to you but also about how you can give to others.

Being real

I must admit that I am getting some regular upvotes from the network that I have established. It is something I should not boost about but I should be grateful.

Have you made many comments on the articles of others?

I know it is important to give comments on articles of others but it is really bad when you make 100 or even 1000 similar comments.

By making many similar comments and thinking you have done what you need to do to get the attention may have been the wrong step that some of the new members have taken.

The fact that most authors like quality comments that are genuine and direct to the articles. Make sure you have at least read a bit before making your comments.

It is also polite by giving good authors your upvotes to show your support.

Don’t just make a positive comment and just want to get an upvote for it.

I believe it is really a two-way thing. Even if you do upvote, you must not be so hard-up for an upvote.

An upvote should just simply be a recognition you have for others or others’ recognition for you.

I have also met up with @teamsingapore members recently. This is also another way to indicate that you are not a bot but you are a real person who is willing to establish bonds and relationships resulting in a great network.

Stop begging

One of the most targeted actions is to beg or ask for upvotes or follow.

The fact that upvotes and follow should be a natural course.

It is not really an exchange.

I can be supporting many great content creators like @lukestokes, @surpassinggoogle, @donkeypong, @hanshotfirst, @anneke, @hopehuggs, @meesterboom, @adsactly, @d-pend, @exyle, @giantbear, @eco-alex, @travelgirl, @kennyskitchen, @coruscate and many more but it does not necessary mean that they will follow me back.

If the popular content creators do follow back without begging, just treat it as a great bonus and be grateful. Don’t beg or ask for anything but just be supportive.

One of the ingredients that really has helped me greatly is being supportive.

I have really given help to many steemit members with my little upvotes especially those in @steemiteducation, @dtube and @dsound.

I may have upvoted many for many months but that do not mean I will necessary be getting back upvotes.

Learn to take it easy and stop being bitter.

Learn to be a giver and be supportive without expecting return.

You will be happier and you will gradually gain support eventually.

Brutal facts that lead you to success

I may have written quite a number of brutal facts that may have been mistakes that you have made.

The truth is many of us made the same mistakes when we first started and we learnt them from the hard way.

Mistakes are opportunities for growth if you can recognise them.

Greater success really comes when you can recognise where you have gone wrong.

In conclusion

I have usually written educational articles about children but this is really a special article written mainly for the steemit members especially if you are still struggling with your steemit journey.

Determination can still bring you a long way. Determination alone may not be enough. Learn from your mistakes and continue to move on.

You can join some discords and communities to help your growth but remember to give more than you take.

By being a giver, you may gain a lot more in the end. There may be a lot more that I can write within an article but I guess you get some of my points.

Some very good advice there my friend. Steemit is just as much about social interaction as it is about getting upvotes and making money. You should comment and vote on content you like and create a dialogue with people. That will build relationships that will lead to people following and voting for you. It is a journey and you want to have as many companions as possible.

It is great that I am able to be connected to you especially we are both educators who may share many similar thoughts. Thanks for your support once again!

I hope people can understand that Steemit can only grow from quality interactions and people who really care!

I agree with you! I do receive spam comments and I can only just ignore them.
If ever I do comment just like your articles, I do give an upvote at the same time as a form of politeness as well as recognition! Thanks for dropping by!

@fun2learn You have received a 100% upvote from @nothankyou because this post did not use any bidbots and you have not used bidbots in the last 30 days!

Upvoting this comment will help keep this service running.
