Movie night with my younger son
Children do not stay young forever.
As they grow into teenagers, they may start to have their own circle of friends and they may not always follow us like the past.
My younger son has just completed his PSLE examination for Primary Six.
I decided to bring him out for a movie which my wife usually is not keen to follow.
I have an older son who is 18 years old this year.
He can still remember that we would always catch the popular movies not long after they were released in the cinema.
In the early years, I may be tight with my finance but I had always made it a point to bring him out for movies.
It is true that he has his own life now and he seldom goes out with us as a family but the memory of going out for movies is something he could relate to in his childhood.
Movie: Johnny English Strikes Again
The movie ‘Johnny English Strikes Again’ has already been showing in the cinema for some time now.
My younger son had mentioned about it and I decided to bring him for the show as it may be a hint of his interest in the movie.
It is a movie that we can have a good laugh since Rowan Atkinson, who acted as Mr Bean, has humorous acting skills.
There were indeed many funny moments and Johnny English was an old spy who wanted the old gadgets regardless of the latest technology.
Before returning to spy work, Johnny English had been working as a geography teacher.
His passion for spy work made him trained his students to acquire the skills of spy. He was grooming potential for future spy in the school.
It does sound like us who want to pass on the passion of learning to our students.
Some of us even see future teachers in the making when we see our students teaching other students.
Your time
The fact about modern society is most of us are always busy with our work regardless of occupation.
When we get to rest, we want to spend time watching online shows or using our mobile devices for entertainments.
We are mostly guilty of lacking in spending quality time with our children.
It is important that we make a conscious effort to leave everything aside and just spend the time with our children.
They would not stay young forever and they may not need us after a couple of years.
When you feel that you can spend time with them, they may not need our time anymore.
Embrace the time that you still can have with your children now in the present rather than future when they do not need us anymore.
In conclusion
This sharing may just trigger some thoughts for some parents of what they may have been doing right while others may just be reminded of what they have been lacking in doing.
While your children is still young, it is never too late to make an effort to spend quality time with them while you still can.
Enjoy the time without your mobile devices since we are easily glued to it nowadays.
