The Supportive Spirit

Every leader wants supporters for their ideas and initiatives.

In a great organisation, it is hard to grow when everyone wants to become a leader.

A great leader must gather a good pool of supporters. Without anyone following, there is no one to lead.

We need supportive subordinates to implement our ideas and initiatives since even the greatest leader can never work alone.

A great leader with a good team of supportive followers can build a successful organisation.

Support To Nurture

Very often, we may not get everyone to be supportive from the start. A leader needs to put in effort to nurture such culture.

A good leader must express his appreciation for good ideas shared by his subordinates.

When a leader provides positive acknowledgement of the ideas of others, the vice versa effect may soon happen.

Through conscious effort in acknowledging great ideas of others, the leader would soon find all his ideas and initiative can easily get great support from his subordinates.

Rapport

A good team must have good rapport.

When good rapport is formed, all suggestions and creative ideas can easily be implemented without much argument because each member knows what the other member is trying to express even without much elaboration.

A good rapport enables one to know the intention and purpose of others easily.

A simple body language would have provided a message that would take many words to explain without good rapport.

When a team needs to meet a customer or competitors, they can easily work together without the need for long conversation since good rapport enables them to have common understanding.

Even in schools, good rapport among students and teachers can often accelerate the execution of the projects that they are working on.

Reward

Supportive staff can often be taken for granted so a good leader should make an effort to reward and acknowledge his subordinates.

One good way that a good leader can reward his team members is to treat them to a good meal.

By taking our money from our own pocket, our subordinates would feel appreciated and they would have a good chance to mingle and have fun with their colleagues that they are regularly working with.

A nice token of appreciation for good job done or a simple gift for Christmas are all great ways to show appreciation.

Everyone likes to receive gifts and treats so a generous boss can get lots of future support when the team meet with future challenges.

In Conclusion

A great organisation needs a great leader.

A great leader needs a good team of followers.

A good team of followers needs to have a good supportive spirit.

A supportive spirit needs to be nurtured and developed by a great leader.
