Using rap to teach area and circumference of circle

in #steemiteducation5 years ago (edited)

It is always hard for teacher to get pupils to remember the formula for area and circumference of circle.

Pupils can remember them when we are still on the same topic but they may get confused after few months.

The below two videos were created to help pupils to remember their formula for area and circumference of circle in a fun way.

Area of circle

Circumference of circle

In both songs, diameter is represented as D with two hands together.

Since both our hands are identical so putting one hand down would be radius represented as R with one hand in the song.

When we sing ‘Pi’, both hands are stretched out. Our whole body forms the shape of a π with our two legs like the two straight lines of the symbol.

These two videos are really raw products but they serve well as memory triggers.

Most children can remember because it is fun to sing and do the actions.

I hope you enjoy these two short videos and they can inspire you to guide your children to learn in fun ways.
