EXCELLENCE IN LEADERSHIP(Part 1)

Today I will be sharing with you few tips on excellence in leadership because I believe that most of us have been in a postion of leadership, are in a position of leadership or will be in a position of leadership and it is paramount that we excel!
It takes an excellent leader to build and excellent team,like people say "you cannot give what you do not have".

Excellence in leadership is the ability to inspire upward mobility and growth in people's behaviour which will translate into results and outcomes.

Excellence is the combination of being effective and efficient.
To be effective means to do the right thing and achieve the right results.
To be efficient means to do a thing well

HOW TO CULTIVATE THE MENTALITY OF EXCELLENCE IN LEADERSHIP!
1)Constantly be dissatisfied with status quo: It is either an excellent leadership or a leadership that celeberates mediocrity. Now the question is which category do you belong? To be an excellent leader, you have to debunk the mentality of maintaining status quo and cultivate the mentality of consistent growth.

2)The power of observation: To be an excellent leader,you have to engage the power of observation. Excellence is observing to improve,so you have to observe to improve.

3)Constantly expose yourself to people who are doing it right: There is someone who your one day dream is the person's everyday reality. Have someone you are bench marking, the best way to Improve yourself is to hangout with people who are currently doing right what you intend to do.

4)Practise: To be excellent in leadership you have to keep learning, keep applying and keep growing. Excellence is not just head knowledge,knowledge is good but application is key. The culture of excellence is built by consistent application of what we have learnt.

5)Exceed expectations: In your practise,always have this consciousness that you want to give your best and nothing less. Like the saying goes "to whom much is given,much is expected".If excellence is your drive, you will give your best and nothing less and in turn you would exceed expectations. Excellence in leadership is not about what you do but how you do it, be creative and proactive in leadership. In end you will realise that you did not just occupy the position but you made the position!
