Let's learn math in a fun way! A Roman game: the 3 in a row
The one that most attracts our attention is the circular board, so we are going to make one and to test how it is played.
So let's go!!
Materials:
- Paperboard.
- Compass or some object with which to draw a circle, such as a plate or a CD.
- Colored pencils or markers (markers or markers).
- Ruler.
- Six chips are needed, three equal for each player. Chickpeas, beans, coins, stones ... will work wonders.
- Paper, scissors and glue. (Optional)
Process:
- Draw a circle on the cardboard.
- Divide the circle into 8 equal sectors. You can do it by eye or more precisely by folding a circle of paper as indicated in the video.
- Mark the boxes and diameters with marker.
- Decorate the game board with words or numbers using Roman calligraphy. You can research on the internet information about it.
- Cut out the inscriptions and paste them on the board. Now we can start playing, we will use beans and chickpeas.
GAME RULES
- The player who manages to place his three chips online will be the winner. The chips may be placed on the same straight line or consecutively on the arc of the circumference.
- The first thing will be to choose which player starts, for example, with rock paper or scissors.
- In turn, each player places the chips in the box they choose.
- Once all 3 tiles are positioned, only one adjacent empty square is allowed to move, that is, it is not allowed to jump or place one tile on top of another. Before deciding on a movement, one must assess the consequences. In short, you have to think to find a winning strategy.
