🌈 Learning the colors: Activities 🌈

in #steemiteducation6 years ago (edited)

As soon as a child is able to pay attention to something that shows them, for example, a red ball, while the dice are "this red ball", you can start learning the colors. In the beginning, you have short moments that make you lose time. From 16-18 months will begin, little by little, attribute the quality of "red" to objects and differentiate what is "red" from what is not.

There are several techniques that can be used to expand the imagination of children and their learning.

1. The day of color

Choose a color for each day, dress it up and try to make sure that all the activities of the day are related to that color: eat a tomato salad, macaroni with Bolognese sauce ... Do not stop repeating the color throughout the day.

2. Handkerchief party

Fill a bag with handkerchiefs of different colors and ask him to take one red and put it on his head, one blue and knot it on the foot, one green and tie it to the knee, one yellow around the neck. He laughs with him when he sees what he has left.

3. As a team

Divide the children into two teams and each of them chooses a captain. For five minutes, one of the groups has to obey all the orders of the opposing team captain. "Touch something green", and children will have 10 seconds to find something of that color. Give a point for each object touched within time. Afterwards, the ordering team goes on to play and wins the most points.

4. Yellow + blue = green

Buy finger paint of the three basic colors (blue, yellow and magenta) and let your child experience what happens when the colors are mixed. To pour a little magenta on a plastic plate and add yellow. Observe her face when she sees that orange appears and ask her to name the new tones. You can practice this game also by mixing pieces of plasticine or overlaying cellophane.

Finally, it is an excellent activity that you practice with my daughter so that they can enjoy it in the classroom or at home with the children.

Necessary material

  • Copies of the song for each student.
  • Papers.
  • Pencils and colored markers.

Process

  • Give each student a copy of the lyrics of the song that is attached.
  • Read the refrain rhythm and solve vocabulary problems.
  • Read the verses with special emphasis on the ending of the adjective and the article that accompanies the noun: Blanca la nieve.
  • Point out some things that are in the class for boys and girls to say the colors.
  • Students think of things that have colors and they say them like in the song: first the color and then the noun. All the elements that are in the class are used
The teacher can start with an example: Red is the book, green the blackboard.
  • Provide paper and pencils or colored markers to write the second verse of the entire song. They can make drawings to decorate it.
  • Read all versions and hang on the class board.
