Today we are learning about the simple little matchsticks.
You will not believe how long it took for the invention of the matchstick.

In the years before the matchstick people had to find different ways of making fire.
Fire was important to keep warm and to cook food.

Then there were people who started experimenting on how to make matches.
In this video you will see how many tried.
Today we do not even think about it as matches are readily available.
What we do forget is that somebody had to invent the match.
