PROBABILITY- WHAT IS IT?

Today we are doing something called probability.

In life we find that things do not always happen in the exact same way.  That is when we call it probability.

We start off with a number line but it is a bit different as it only goes from 0 – 1. Between 0 and one we will have a ½ and that is what our line consists of.

We have to write these in percentages, like the 0 will be 0% the ½ will be 50% and the 1 will be 100%.

It is very important to do a lot of trials if you have more than 2 numbers to get a better idea of what the outcome will be.

We can do this with other things to but it is important to realise that nothing is for sure as we call it probability.

Always remember the numerator is at the top and the bottom we have the amount of items we are trying to test.

We do get things in life where we want to work out the probability of something happening.

The most important thing to remember is that the more time we try the better the probability answer will be.

As always there are rules that we have to remember and of course do not forget your multiplication table as this is extremely important.

We will never know how to do things if we do not know our multiplication table.
