TRAINING ON CHILD PROTECTION
This training course to child Protection Committee members on Saturday 17th August 2019 initiated and carried out by Plan International for our area was done at this particular period to arrest the societal ills against children in emergency. Attended were 2 trainers and 11 members to have a better understanding on how to approach parents, guardians and sponsors of children within the community.
Elaboration talks were on:
- Physical violence
- Psychological violence
- Social violence
- Separated children
- Unaccompanied children.
The different forms on which these kinds of violence against children manifest were also cited and elaborated upon. Thus, rendering us fully prepared to respond positively to challenges earlier faced in our sensitization campaigns.
This capacity building seminar with its enriching staff enabled our team to effectively identify and link children already abused and those undergoing difficulties under guardians who voluntarily abuse these children with child labour in this period of difficulties when some of these children can not actually explain how they came about living with such guardians.
Participants together with officials separated with a great degree of satisfaction as to the improvement that shall come from the field work considering that some of these activities in the past recorded good results without the use of these tactful skills received in this training.
