SEXUAL IDENTITY IN ADOLESCENTS.

Talking about sexuality with adults is very easy for any person, teacher or doctor, but talking about the same subject with teenagers is not easy at all.

Adolescents tend to shut down when any person touches that topic, they feel sorry, embarrassed and even afraid of the reactions they receive from others for expressing themselves freely.

Many teenagers make turns in conversations, they take it to game to avoid talking about sexuality and their sexual preferences.

For men to speak openly of their sexual identity, is to name a capital sin, defend themselves from what they consider is an attack on their rank of male and male.

In the case of girls, I found that they are more open to externalize their preferences, so much so that recently talking to a student about the subject and even being in the company of other students, told us that she is a lesbian. All of us who were there for a moment fell silent, we were surprised that in the middle of nowhere we made such a big confession.

The girl is only 14 years old and already knows that she likes people of the same sex and even told us that she has already had girlfriends and walks freely with her hand in hand.

Cases like these abound in our society, it is there where parents must guide their children from a young age and educate them in ways to develop their sexual identity prioritizing preferences.
