Hi rooneey,
that is a great post though I disagree on being a student's friend. I am getting the feeling that i am a bit too close to my classes and can not claim all the respect I need for maximum efficiency. Nonetheless it is important to have a positive relationship to the students.
And to all your other points: I agree 100%. Thank you for sharing.
