There are always multiple entries pitted against each other for every winners spot including the SSC Outstanding Achievement Awards and it's continually a painful process picking 1 over the other(s).

@lizelle Had to say this about @loveself’s healthy Springtime Tartine – "it not only looks pretty with the Parmesan Cheese Tulle, but must have tasted fantastic as well! I have a weakness for homemade nutty seed bread and topping it with wild leeks, creamy avo & pea smash & asparagus cooked two ways plus a lovely runny egg on top is a winner in my eyes! I want one of those Parmesan Cheese Tulles right now please!
All in all a great spring time inspired sandwich & all around beautifully put together entry!

- I'm always looking forward to entry by @lizelle! She never seizes to amaze me...and I'm assuming all of you too with her incredible creativity and odd ball antics. She's a true visionary when it comes to sandwiches and food creation/prep in general. Elements of silliness leak through in every entry coupled with distinctive artisan touches and often bizarre recipes. This springtime inspired creation was a true work of art and the over all entry was passionate, carefully constructed and presented for the SSC Community. She also doubled as our Veto Voter this week making her time to produce an entry that much more limited!

@dianadee - Springtime...check! This entry racked up points for being a picnic lol. Great springtime inspiration and execution. Wholewheat seed bread & Smoked Chicken Viennas were a nice choice for sunny day in the park eats! I also appreciated the use of cottage cheese which has been making appearances in SSC lately. I also enjoyed the sunflower seeds add and apples for dessert perhaps? This was a beautifully laid out entry with obvious springtime passion!
@yesslife - Whoa nelly lol. Action packed sandwich....Womanwich alert. This wieners and flowers sandwich kicked some serious ass. Meat, Veggies & Fruit combo was a real high point plus the addition of boiled eggs (adding texture I assume and softening the blow of some of the more intense ingredients like the purlpe onion. Also I really appreciated the homemade Guasacaca sauce! Wait did I mention she made the entire thing outside!? That Screams out spring to me... Nice Job on this one Yessica!
@alansthoughs - Another insane sandwich man who doesn't let up from entry to entry. He uses some of the most bizarre ingredients SSC has ever seen and somehow manages to make them look super appetizing. This particular entry utilized a pigs ear...At first glance, most of us would probably be thinking "no thanks" however, Alan's creative preparation and obvious wealth of knowledge for cultural recipes changes the most grotesque looking ingredients into seemingly delicious delicacies. This entry was expertly presented and the pancake-doily thing a work of art. Excellent job on these spring rolls!
SELECTING WINNERS!
@jaybird: I select the winners based on a variety of parameters. Just do your thing and have fun with it. I'm considering many factors such as presentation, ingredients & originality, creativity, community opinion & artistic ability just to name a few. PLEASE make sure to follow the rules! They are easy to follow and help prevent the tragedy of Null entries!
There are now 6 prizes. First Prize = roughly 50% of the prize pool
Second Prize dubbed the "Veto Vote" = roughly 30% of the prize pool + the honour of selecting the following weeks second prize winner. This prize is ideally given to an entry that although it did not win the contest, showed distinction among all the other entries. This could be a feature such as it was the community favourite, it used the most bizarre ingredients, or, it was just the best looking sandwich etc. IMPORTANT! The "Veto Vote" holder may not vote on his or her own sandwich to be selected as the second prize. However, they are still eligible to win First Prize should they enter the contest that week.
Third Prize will be roughly 15% of the prize pool
Roughly 5% of the pool goes towards the "Outstanding Achievement Awards"
Week 40's Veto Vote holder is: @homecook and was selected by @lizelle who was week 39's Veto Vote holder. Thank you both for your participation!
IMPORTANT! "Veto Vote" holders must always present their final selection to @jaybird in confidence and allow the news to be revealed in an officially "Who Won Steemit Sandwich Contest" blog post. Deviation from this method will result in a forfeit of the Veto Vote and thus, the selection will be consider null and a new winner will be chosen by @jaybird.
Veto Voters can contact @jaybird through or Steemit.chat username: jaybird or discord jaybird#4732 . If for whatever reasons, the Veto Vote winner does not select an entry in the following weeks contest, I will be the default second prize selector for that week.
