More power to Steem. I deleted IG (app) maybe a couple weeks after joining over a year ago.

Occasionally I may click ‘post ad on IG’ when doing FB ad campaigns for clients but personally haven’t logged in since 😒

Was always a pain to post reflinks on IG anyway and if you owe FB/IG for ads, expect to be shadow-banned if the payment doesn’t clear 🤬

Facebook is a marketing tool where you provide the audience and the content, they collect majority of ad revs. Nothing wrong with that since they are a for profit company, it’s the users choice. And if you can generate from posting ads yourself, you get the most out of using Facebook and features (power editor etc) that the avg users never use.

If your not paying for ads on IG and FB your message simply won’t be seen by masses. If you go viral naturally, they filter and force you to pay for ads since you just proved that your traffic is valuable. A cat and mouse game that the cats always win, cats being advertisers and Facebook.

Steem is the closest thing to an actual social network albeit a social blockchain, given that we the users own and control the network.
