Ever since the early days of January 2018 our beloved Steem is in a constant downtrend. There was a short break during April 2018 of course, but that's all there is to remember over these last 21 full months. At times it feels so depressing doesn't it? WRONG. It's not. It is exactly what I like to call "a second chance." That's how it feels like...at least from where I stand.

There's been a lot of talking whether Steem will survive this alt crypto winter. Long discussions in discord channels...tons of posts regarding the price of Steem...arguments...conflicts...but the blockchain keeps producing blocks every 3 seconds. Tirelessly. For 3.5 years now...Like your very own pulse...block...3...2...1...block...3...2...1...block...

Maybe I need to remind you a couple of things just to refresh your memory. When I joined the Steem family, the only thing that was great was the price of Steem which was sitting at ~4.5$. There were dozens of problems back then (some of them still exist but in a much smaller scale)...but due to the euphoria that flooded the place we preferred to keep them hidden under the carpet...so everyone thought that we were fine...but that was far from being true.

There were no Tribes back then...nobody was giving a shit about the guy "next to him"...tons of abuse...no organization at all...people had the as long as I am doing good, who the fuck cares what others think of me?" mentality. There was no MIRA...no Steem Engine...there was no communication at all with the headquarters nor with the witnesses. There was no 3speak.online, aka "freedom of speech"...I am not even sure that there was even a plan at all after @Dan left this place.

It was like being in a rave party where all of us were drugged and couldn't see anything but, game the system as much as possible.

And here we are...

...21 months later. And things look...different. In fact, while we solved most of the problems that were underlying right before our eyes, (I know there are many things that need to be fixed) and this place looks way more attractive, some people still focus on the price and blame Steemit.Inc for that massive pressure on the price. Maybe it's true...maybe it's not...you see Steem isn't the only alt coin that suffered -USD /Satoshi wise- during this bear market. As a matter of fact every single alt coin is getting hammered daily...

But instead of focusing on the price, just look around you for a moment. This is progress! This is development. This seems like a plan. But Noooooo...you want that 5$ Steem again huh? To do what exactly? Maybe power down your 1K SP? Your 10K SP maybe? Your 100K SP, sell and get out of this place? Nice...So assuming you have 10K SP and power everything down you have the stunning amount of 50K $$$!!!! Now you can finally buy 1/5 of that Lambo you were promised when you joined Steem....Isn't that great?

So how about focusing on all the good things that are happening here every single day and do your part so that this is the most attractive destination for everyone who wishes to either blog / invest / build their business...on the Web?

When all the pieces are finally in place...you won't even consider selling for 5$....

Till then...keep accumulating and enjoy the ride.
