The Unity of Malaysia Day..

Last August, we, Malaysians, celebrated our Independence Day (Merdeka Day) gloriously. Yesterday, we celebrated Malaysia Day.

What makes the two celebrations different?
On 31st August 1957, Federation of Malaya was formed, consisted of 11 states in the peninsula. While on 16th September 1963, Malayan Federation, Singapore, Sarawak and Sabah came together to form Malaysia.

But Singapore seceded from the Federation of Malaysia in 1965 to form their own country.

However, Malaysia is populated by citizens of various ethnics, races and religions. The national unity and harmony play an important role in progress of Malaysia.
