A tangible step you can take to become a writer for the game is join the Discord for Steemmonsters. It's listed on the about section @steemmonsters. Scroll down and join a Splinter (color) you'd like to write for
Writer? as in "write stories for the game/setting's lore?"
EDIT: just read all the post now, I think I need to watch the video to understand better, but yeah This is getting more and more interesting!!
