Talia Firestorm | Steemmonsters Fanart | Googly Eyes
For this Steemmonster fanart I was inspired by Talia Firestorm
I wanted to draw her, but didn't quite have the right faber castell watercolour pencils, so I tweaked her a little bit. First I made a sketch on water coloring paper:
The eyes were a problem from the moment I started sketching her, as you can see above. I wondered if I would find a solution for that.
I added colours to the sketch
So I could see what colours I could use for the drawing. I wasn't very pleased with the ones I had, but I decided to just see how it turn out later, and change Talia a bit using the colour that I have here.
I decided to start adding water
Usually when I don't know how I will finish a drawing or painting using these watercolour pencils, I just start adding a bit of water, to see how the colours turn out when I mix them. At first, the water mixed up the colouring a bit, so I had to let it dry overnight, otherwise it would turn out one big blurry mess.
Today I had the solution for the eyes I couldn't get right
I have Googly eyes! So why not use these. I used the biggest googly eyes I have, and they were the perfect size for this artwork. So once I decided, she'd get googly eyes, I added the last colouring to the drawing before adding the water to mix the colours. Luckily, I found one last different tint of green that I used for the outlines. And I wanted to giver her hair more colour, so I used red to spice it up a bit.
The only thing I still had to do now, was adding the water, and googly eyes.

unfortunately it's what I call "eyes-on-eyes" so it doesn't qualify for the contest... but you have my upvote and I'll look forward to seeing something more abstract the next time :D
Haha no problem, I wanted to share it anyway, as I was going to post her anyway .. I didn't know that, but now I do :-) I love seeing the other entries anyway! Still didn't find any other option, this was the first thing that came to me, as I didn't know how to fix those darn eyes :) thanks for hopping by!
