A Fiat to Steem Portal thats Fun + Pack Opening

As all here know STEEM is gonna be MASSIVE someday, so naturally I want to accumulate more STEEM while the prices are still relatively low. The only problem for me living in NZ is the on-ramps into crypto are fraught with hurdles. As buying crypto on Coinbase or Binance or any other exchange for that matter is not an option as payments with NZD as they are not yet enabled, we on this island have to rely on localbitcoins.co.nz for all our crypto needs. As those who have bought BTC on localbitcoins.com will know, the premium the seller puts on plus the fees the site takes often eats up a significant chunk of your investment. In my experience what you are left with is an amount of BTC that at market rate is worth about 90% of what you paid for it at the time. Not only that but exchanging BTC for STEEM eats up a little more.
If only there was a direct fiat ----> STEEM option.

There is however one option with a silver lining. Thank you Steem Monsters!

I believe this to be a viable option to turn your dirty fiat into a working currency.....like STEEM! :)
Yes it is more of a gamble as you are paying for packs in which the cards you get are unknown. However if you are someone that likes a bit of a gamble and enjoys the thrill of the chase this could be a great option for you. And if you are like me and enjoys playing steem monsters and building a strong army its a win win.
My game plan is, buy beta packs with NZD ----> Sell the cards I don't want or need ----> Use the cards I want to build a stronger army ----> Climb higher up the season leaderboard and compete in tournaments for a nice chunk of the prize-pool up for grabs on a daily basis ----> Rinse & repeat ----> Conquer all!!

Lets get to the fun bit. Lets open some packs! This time I decided to buy 20 beta packs worth $40USD (2$ a pack).

Few good epic cards there at the beginning of the pull, the last run of packs was bullshit.
I think i'll be doing that again sooner rather than later haha

Another option could be the NZ exchange kiwi-coin where you can deposit fait to trade for btc, the process is long and quite a few papers they want. Not sure of the rates though.

Steem monsters would be a great idea for those that like card games that want to dip their toes in crypto.

I think I remember looking into kiwi-coin along with cryptopia a while back but thought the rates were ridiculously high. How do you get your BTC @biglipsmama

After writing that comment, looked on their site to find the banks have also closed the buying and selling side down as they did with Cryptopia way back when.
