Fire Splinter Tanks--Power Poll

in #steemmonsters6 years ago (edited)

There are three cards that I consider to be likely candidates as tanks in the Fire Splinter. Though any combination can be used and any card can be your tank these three will be considered the best likely under the criteria I placed in a prior post, and here is a link to that post. That will serve as a nice refresher or info piece for down the road if you are newer to the game.

@cryptkeeper17 Top Tanks in Fire

#3: Serpentine Soldier: As it sits at a lower manna it may make sense than some of the next two to come if going for an all out lineup of quick hitting speed merchants, but as the stats are currently listed it plays as a quicker tank that could also be used as an off-tank or in rear support at the end not having any real defense against magic, melee, range except the small amount of armor that aids in the last two.

#2: Pit Ogre: This is a card I really like, it's a beast, really gets after the opponent, has enrage and stun which makes its attack higher when at less than full health-and has an ability to cancel out the opponent monster's next action with stun. It's higher melee also gets a nice boost when played Malric Inferno and could very likely cause a lot of damage to the front tank of the opponent while ideally getting its shots in early. Pit Ogre also carries a very solid amount of health so it can survive a bit up front but will likely be taken down very low to beat out depending on the match format.

#1: Serpent of the Flame: Maybe my favorite epic in the deck as of these stats that are shown. Kind of "a mini legend" in my opinion. Card has retaliate, poison, piercing for its abilities all of which are great assets to have in a tank. It's a leaner/meaner tank with poison it knocks of two health points per round after it attacks a monster which is very rare for a bigger attacker to have this ability. The piercing drives a full attack after a melee attack against something that has less armor than the attack by the Serpent of the Flame so that is also a definite way to finish an opponent off. This card is technically considered to be a tank but I like to put almost anywhere again depending on the game format it can play in the 1 spot, 2 spot, or even in the back as a sneak buster and/or the final boss after all other cards have fell in front of it.

There are my opinions on these cards now I would like to hear yours. All comments/questions of course always welcome in the non spam variety.

Thanks for the analysis @cryptkeeper17. I've copied and pasted into my notes so I can read when I've got a clear head. Still feeling pretty rough at the moment so I don't have a lot of energy for learning. 😢

Great job here... I like to see the analysis of the tanks... very helpful!
