[SM] Season Rewards Adjustments

in #steemmonsters5 years ago

Hey guys! Personally, I think it is too easy for people to earn an excessive amount of packs through creating many accounts and getting them to champion rank. Getting 3 accounts up there (which isn't hard for someone with maxed out cards) can net you 90 packs, or $180USD! That's a lot of free money.

I was thinking, for this season's rewards what if there's a minimum games for each tier? For example, you need 100 games for silver rewards, 250 games for gold, 500 games for diamond and 1000 games for challenger rewards. At the highest level of rewards, that's still less than 75 games per day which isn't that much to ask for if you only have one account.

This way people will actually need to play the game to earn rewards since a lot of the high ranked players can probably hit champion rewards in under 100 games considering they reset so high.

Furthermore, with the amount of resource credits required to play 100 games, this should act as a further deterrence for making alt accounts.

Might just encourage bot adoption.
I like the way they've put in League Ceilings (I'm trying to make that the terminology), whereby the cards you bring in are limited down to the maximum level of that league.
It means you can't just send a max deck to a new account and charge up through the ranks, because in the lowest tier, the cards are throttled down to level 1.

Yeah, League Ceilings do help with that, but I feel like setting minimum games will further disincentivise people from creating many accounts as it's one extra hurdle they need to jump over for the rewards, and it shouldn't impact normal players too much.

Furthermore, having lots of bots playing isn't necessarily a bad thing, since it should decrease wait times and hopefully soon we'll have different ladders like normal cards and gold only cards in or alpha/non-alpha etc

I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Any time I discern a problem, I wait 4 minutes and find that Matt's already solved it.
Brilliant devs, incredible game; love it :)

It's true, I don't know how he finds time to work so much while simultaneously socialising with the community so much! Matt is the main reason I have so much faith in the game that I've invested almost around half my crypto money into Steem Monsters!

I can't see any way that's a mistake, tbh.
