Steem Monsters Is Actually A Hidden Crypto Airdrop!

Note that rewards are based on the rating system! This has many implications given the way matchmaking works. Because matches are made based on summoner level, this means that EVERYONE had a chance to gain the max level of rewards, no matter how much you spent on the game itself! If you only bought the starter pack, you will pretty much be playing only against other people who did the same or spent just a little more. If you maxed out all the cards youll be playing against similar people who have done the same.
So how is this an airdrop? Because unlike most centralized collectible card games today, you actually OWN your cards and can sell them with relative ease thanks to the steemmonsters market or third party market. And best of all the cards vary in value based on their in-game use and rarity. So even one pack may have cards worth several hundreds of Steem or SBD. In any case, every pack currently sells for $2 and currently contains 5 cards. And even the booster packs themselves can be sold.
So effectively, this is a non-fungible airdrop using a non-fungible crypto token. In other words, those with better skill (on a fair matchmaking playing field) will get better rewards based on cards that have varying value.

From what I have heard, 100 rating is pretty easy to obtain since you dont lose rating points under 100 when you lose.
They change something and the match is related to your rank, no to your summoner level, thats what I read.
