Only two days left to get your stories in for the A Day in the Life of Pirate Captain Steem Monsters Fan Fiction Contest. You don't have to be a fan of Steem Monsters or a player to enter the contest. It's very simple and requires nothing but your imagination and some writing ability.

This week's featured character is Pirate Captain.

Picture the Pirate Captain in Alaska. What's he doing there? Who is he with?

Tell a story with the usual story elements in it - Character, Plot, Conflict, etc. Give us something juicy. The title of the contest is "A Day in the Life," but we're not looking for slice-of-life stories. We want hot-off-the-presses speculative fiction that makes us go WTF? Say wha?

In other words, turn our heads. Flip us over. Make us question our own existence. Make Stephen King look like a sham. Pair Clive Barker with Louisa May Alcott and throw in some George R.R. Martin. It's speculative fiction. It's Steem Monsters. It's fan fiction. Make us wish we'd written it.

Here's the judging criteria:

1. How well you tell the story
2. How well you incorporate the featured character into the story
3. Whether or not the story is representative of good speculative fiction

The prize for the winner is 2 Steem Basic Income shares.
