"Tade Lands" Map Entry for the Steem Monsters Map Contest
Trade Lands
I tried to add as many diverse sets of areas as I could, for instance Furui is the Japanese word for old, hence "City of Old" so if you see any weird names that's my attempt at diversity :) this map is less than perfect so please make as many changes as there needs to be, but please if it is picked try and keep as much of the original design elements as you can.
With this map I didn't want it to be sectioned off, divided, each character class self-contained, my world is a living breathing organism with constantly changing dynamics. I'm not a great artist but this should get the basic idea across. At the bottom, I wrote some lore explaining all the different design elements of the map.
This map has pretty much all of the areas labeled.
Pirate Cove
Ghost town (somewhere near ghost town next melancholy hill is a lake called Disappointment)
The Dreieck
Iceland (I know, how original)
Furui
Here is a simple version, hopefully it's easier to edit.
The purple dots are where high concentrations of magic are, in these areas interdimensional portals can spawn, most magical beings like to reside near these areas, for example
The Seven Islands
The Seven islands are where the dragons could be, as of now there are only four dragons but I expect there will be more coming. : )
The Dark Islands
The two Dark islands have never been fully charted due to the fact that anyone who has tried has never returned. Some say the dark islands birthed the necromancy, while others say they fell from the heavens, the only thing that is certain is that Angel's (life-giving creatures that can take different forms but prefer the shape of humans and birds such as Peacebringer and Angel of Light) fight to protect the peace of the Trade Lands.
The Dragon
legend tells of a great serpent that, when the very foundations of the earth were laid down upon him he became angry and began to coil himself and move underneath creating desserts and causing earthquakes (that's what the red is for) as there is nothing the inhabitence of Trade Lands can do about it thiey are forced to build around it.
The Sea
I think it would be interesting to have a Bermuda triangle type area that could be Mischievous Mermaid's domain, if you did make an area like this please call it "Dreieck" it means triangle in German.
The City of Furui
I think a fun twist to the city of Atlantis would be to make it have its roots in Japan.
Furui is the Japanese word for old, hence "City of Old". After many years of Medusas tyrannical reign in Furui, a rebellion formed, led by there fearless leader Naga Warrior the rebellion wages war against Empress Medusa.
Ghost town
The only (mostly) living creature you'll find there is Feral Spirit, but he usually keaps to himself up on Meloncholly hill with a plastice tree, unfortunately, most other plant life gets killed due to acid rain.

I didn't think to add it at the time but there should definitely be underwater volcanoes. Fire VS Water arena!!!
