Steem Monsters 🐲 Karten zum Anfassen! | Cards - Let's get physical!

was wäre wenn es die beliebten Steem Monsters Karten auch zum Anfassen gäbe? Ich hab's einfach mal ausprobiert und 3 Exemplare von Legendären ausgewählt:
what if when the beloved Steem Monsters cards were available as physical cards? I just tried it and selected 3 samples of Legendary:
- Elemental Phoenix Level 1
- Selenia Sky Level 1
- Lord of Darkness Level 1

Mir fiel Yu-Gi-Oh! ein als extrem erfolgreiches Sammelkartenspiel was 1999 rauskam und fast eine Dekade lebte. Die Karten habe eine Größe von 85,5mm x 59,0 mm, was im typischen Größenbereich von Kartenspielen liegt.
Yu-Gi-Oh! came to my mind, a extremely successfull trading card game which survived almost a decade. The cards have a size of 85.5mm x 59.0mm which is in the typical range for card games.
Herstellung der Muster
Production of the Samples
- Screencapture der Karten von beiden Seiten im Steem Monsters-Spiel aus meiner Sammlung und einem Booster Pack (Rückseite)
- Bauen einer Druckvorlage A4 mit 300 DPI und Layout der auf Größe skalierten Karten
- Drucken in hoher Qualität auf Fotopapier welches eine ordentliche Dicke hat für die spätere Griffigkeit
- Ausschneiden Vorder- und Rückseite mit einem Rollenschneider für präzise Kanten der Karten und genaues Maß
- jeweils Vorder- und Rückseite mit Papierleimstift auf Unterlage (Blatt Papier) einstreichen und zusammenkleben (Lappen parat um Leimreste wegzuwischen)
- Die Karte in einem Buch pressen (habe dazu Hantelscheiben draufgelegt 😁) da der Leim die Karte wellt
- Nach dem Trocknen ganz leichte Rundungen an den Ecken mit Schere schneiden
- Mit schwarzen wasserbeständigen Marker die Kanten vorsichtig schwärzen - Überdecken der weißen Schnittkanten für solideren Eindruck
- Screencapture of the cards from both sides in the Steem Monsters game with my collection and a Booster Pack (back)
- Creating a print template A4 with 300 dpi and layout of the original sized cards
- Print in high quality on photo paper glossy with decent thickness for better grip later
- Cut out front and back with a roll cutter for precise edges of the cards and correct measure
- each front and back stripping with paper glue on bases (sheet of paper) and stick together (damp cloth prepared to clean glue rests)
- Press the cards in a book (i used weight plates on the book 😁) because the glue makes the card to warp
- After drying cut out slight curves at the edges with a scissor
- Carefully blacking the edges with water-proof marker - cover the white cutting edges for a more solid presentation

Zum Schluß hab ich die Karten wie im Original-Spiel noch mal ausgelegt um Look & Feel beim Aufdecken zu erleben.. und ich kann sagen, physisch kommt das tolle Monsterdesign noch besser zur Geltung! Das würde wirklich Spaß machen! 😁👍 besonders wenn nur Legendäre erscheinen! 😄.. Spaß beiseite wenn die richtigen Karten mit Kampfwerten erscheinen, dann funktioniert Steem Monsters sicher auch genauso gut wie ein Pokemon oder Yu-Gi-Oh in meinen Augen!
Finally i layed out the cards face down like in the original game to experience the look & feel while flipping.. with the physical cards the amazing monster design is even more impressive to me! and i admit that would be very funny! 😁👍 especially if there are just Legendary! 😄 .. all joking aside when the cards with combat values arrive, then Steem Monsters will work as good as a Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh in my eyes!

Look, those cards look beautiful in real life!
It would be a wonderful idea to print them all and have them framed as a reminder / reminder of your letters in steem monster.
And who knows, in the future, we could play steem monster physically (with the virtual rules of the game) and play for fun with friends and childrens
Indeed i think that would be quite cool and should work like any other trading card game! Soon the combat value will be released, i guess July because there is enough good pressure on the devs, hehe 😁. Thank you for ideas!
I think this is a great idea to have some physical cards as well - it helps to get the small guys hooked. If I would be able to give this to my 9 year old, the whole school would be infected within days. What you could do is to allow each card to be ordered in print exactly once.
Oh yes! That would be all the rage right now! The value would be like in the tulip mania, hehe. Both of my older boys (7,11) are playing Pokemon card games and i can hardly wait for the combat values on the cards to see their reaction. 😁
First of all really congratulations because in my opinion you are the one who created Physical Cards of Steemmonsters game and this work is really appreciable. And i have to accept that these cards are literally reflecting as professional cards and if you showcase these cards to children then in my opinion they will not return back it because these are that much attractive.
And yes, playing Steemmonsters Card Game physically can give more fun because we all are used to play the Physical card games and we all know how passionate we all were towards card game, specially towards the WWF. In my opinion you can create an market for this, means creating set of all cards with an manual or guiding paper to explain the role of all cards and then maybe who knows you can be the one who opened the market for the Steem monsters physical card game and same way you can promote Steem through it.

Although they have a quite good touch & feel they are just my humble samples for fun. The reflection is coming just from the glossy surface of the photo paper. Professional cards have all that fancy stuff like glittering, twinkling and 3D holo surfaces integrated with great variation.. indeed that's a whole other level of quality. But the design of the monsters alone is enough to get people especially kids addicted, sure. 😁
I think i would be quite easy to distribute physical packs with fixed level of monsters and adjust the rules a bit if necessary due limitation of physical cards. My idea is also to have just a collectors edition with all the monsters or sets for elements and yes to refer to the Steem game would be a great promotion of the game too. Maybe it's already in the works and i don't know. Thanks!

Danke, ich wünschte ich hätte mehr Zeit für eine komplette Kollektion! 😁 Die Haptik ist erstaunlich gut mit doppelschichtigem Fotopapier.
Schaut wirklich cool aus aber eine Fortschrittsanzeige beim Lvl ist für eine echte Karte eher unnötig :D
Da geb ich Dir vollkommen recht, beim Level ggf. nur Bezeichnung und/oder Punkte oder Blöcke des Levels. Interessant wird es wenn die Kampfwerte dann mal verfügbar sind.. meine beiden größeren Söhne würden damit sicher sofort loslegen! 😉
Ich habe mich mit diesem Thema bislang noch nicht beschäftigt. Aber die Karten sehen sehr spannend aus. Was man mit ihnen machen kann, muss ich erst noch herausfinden.

Hallo lieber @freiheit50, aktuell sind es wirklich nur Sammlerstücke die man zu stärkeren/wertvolleren Karten kombinieren kann. Der Handel blüht gerade an verschiedenen Ecken, wie steembay und Discord. Die von mir in der Hand gehaltene Selenia Sky soll die wertvollste Karte sein, da sie Monster herbeirufen kann (Summoner), was später im Aufbau des Kampfdecks entscheidend sein kann.
@aggroed und @yabapmatt werden wohl die Kampfwerte bald integrieren und damit die Karten updaten. Im Spätsommer soll dann damit gebattled werden, aber ich hab auch keine Ahnung wie das virtuell genau ablaufen soll. Ich spekuliere auch mit auf die Wertsteigerung der Karten, wenn die drop rates sinken und immer mehr Leute am Turnier teilnehmen wollen, hängt auch davon ab wie ausgereift dieses Spielsystem ist.
Noch eine Warnung, Steem Monsters macht süchtig! ✋😅

I'm excited too to see it with the tournament in action! But to have a legendary in your own hand, with touch and feel is great, believe me! 😁👍 It's another level of immersion!
