The camp was dirty and had pickaxes laying around. Kobolds and Goblin came went from the mines working night and day with little rest. That is the life of the Goblins to work in the camps. The only way out was to become a shaman and only a few had the gifts to do that. Still today one Goblin sat in the camp staring out at the Forest. It was hot today and the shade that the trees offered looked so inviting. He looked around the camp and decided it was time to sneak away again. For this goblin had spent some extra time with the Kobolds in camp and had learned how to sneak around the camp without anyone able to hear him. While not being able to reach the level of the shaman’s he had also learned a bit of magic. As it stepped out into the forest he felt at home and found a nice spot in the grass to rest.

He awoke to a loud howl in the the distance. It was dark he had slept through the day. This was bad when he went back he would be punished for not meeting his quotas. They might even make him visit one of the Pit Orge. He started to head back when he heard another how this was much closer. He quickly hid in the brush waiting to see what would happen. Then a Minotaur step into the clearing and had a poleax ready in had. Behind him the Goblin could see eyes belonging to the wolfs he had heard. He knew of the Minotaurs of the life clan and knew they could fight. But he seemed outnumbered. Well I can’t do much about that he thought as he went to sneak away.

“Will you not help him?”...

The Goblin turned yet he saw no one. He had heard the question and he looked back again now seeing the 3 wolf closing in.

“Will you not help him?”...

“Why should I? Whispered the Goblin back at the voice.

“I can see into your heart and you do not belong in that place you call home. You belong here with us. You feel the calling of the earth and I felt it in you. So we came to get you. I am Lyanna” she said

With that he could now make out what seemed to be a girl even if she also looked like a ghost. How could she know I don’t want to go back? Yet what can I do? I am not strong enough to save him. He started to back away about to turn and run.

“I can not save him but I can help you both. I can give you a strength to face those fears if you are ready. I can lead you away from that world you are trapped in. Lyanna said

He words are so calming. They do bring me strength. With that he looked again at the Minotaur. The fight was starting and he landed a blow but the wolf was still standing. With a rush inside him he reach out and used the magic he knew and landed a blow that finished off the first wolf. The Minotaur and the other wolfs where surprised they had no idea the Goblin was there.

The rest of the fight was over quickly and while the Goblin had be bitten once he had noticed it didn’t hurt him like he thought it would. He indeed was stronger. As he sat down now resting from the battle the Minotaur came up to him and gave him a approving nod then the both saw as Lyanna returned.

“He is the one” she said pointed at the Goblin.

“He is the heat I felt that so wanted to be a part of the forest to be a part of the world of life. I will need you to take him back to meet the others. For the time to fight for the Forest is coming. And he will be key to helping us.” WIth that she was gone.

“Hmm I would have never guess it would be a Goblin yet you fought well today. I will take you back if you are ready to come. We life deep in the forest a team that will protect it.” The Minotaur said

He sat there wondering what to do. His heart was here in the forest it always had been. Yet could he leave the home he had always know? He could make out the sounds of the camp of the work and see the heat of the fires. He couldn’t go back there now. It was time to go.

“Let’s get going before anyone comes to look for me.” He said and they left.
