Music from Venezuelan Folklore: "El Santiguao"
El Santiguao
The arrangement of the great musician Federico Ruiz is considered a jewel of Latin American folklore. Its complexity makes us understand why El Santiguao is a little interpreted piece, and those who do it doing it well are considered high altitude musicians.
Together with the Quinteto Cantaclaro, I had the opportunity to interpret the bass line of this wonderful choir piece. Particularly in the video that I left above we can hear the version of this group, recorded in 1976, and to this day is considered the best version.
Nacional Choir Simón Bolívar from Venezuela
I will leave the video with the version of this group and I say goodbye to you hoping that they will read me again in my next post. They are loved!
