@chronocrypto, I don't agree with your particularly draconian view on technology and government. Ask yourself, if you dislike technology so much why are you using Steemit? There are pros and there are cons to technology but the downsides do not negate the upsides necessarily.

Sure there are corporate and governmental interests out there that seek to utilize the internet of things and technology for their own considerations. But there are also individuals and "small fry" who benefit from the Internet of opportunity and the Internet of Money.

Sure some companies will become monopolistic in Silicon Valley, but why not invest in those companies and reap the 10x returns?

You are forgetting decentralization and the impact of cryptocurrencies as well. We can have a battle over decentralizing elements of wealth and technology. That is what Steemit is about at the end of the day.
