TEACHER ROOM: Keys to help students learn.

The teacher's action is aimed, in particular, at facilitating and improving student learning. Modern studies on learning indicate that human learning is an active, constructive and contextual process: new knowledge is acquired when presented in a pattern and its application depends on social interaction.

The teacher's assistance should focus on learning and, more specifically, on the processes that constantly pass through the student during the training.

Here are some suggestions:


1.If the teacher really believes that the important thing to learn is to think, and not to memorize or reproduce knowledge, a fundamental part of their educational action should be dedicated to facilitate the intellectual development of the students.

2.Help students assess different points of view: appreciate why some points of view are logically stronger than others and, sometimes, the authorities do not agree.

3.Help students understand the process of making judgments: why decisions need to be weighed when conditions change and more information is obtained.

4.Provide real-world experiences: practice fields and interviews, etc., to establish bridges between abstract, theoretical and concrete learning.

5.Have different students learn, think and process information in different ways.

6.Give them the opportunity to apply their knowledge to experience the power of knowledge and the difficulty of adapting to contextual differences.

7.Provide contexts, schemes and structures in which acquired knowledge can be acquired.

8.Limit the amount of information provided. Students can only absorb a small amount of new information at a time.

9.Emphasize concepts, not facts. The general concepts are understood and remembered better and more significant than the facts or details.

10.Provide opportunities to activate learning. Students learn best by doing, writing, discussing or acting, because active learning situations provide opportunities to verify what they have learned and how they understand it.

11.Encourage collaboration and group work. The students teach the students. Learning focuses on social interaction. In fact, explaining the topic to another student contributes to learning.

12.Offer students key messages about what they do well and what they do wrong, because they motivate them and help them learn.

13.Teach students to choose affective learning strategies. They not only need to learn, but also learn, that is, effective information processing strategies.

14.Model the motivation to learn so that from now on you do not need the teacher to motivate you in your learning tasks.

"When the teacher offers the student the possibility of living experiences in the real world, it helps him relate abstract learning to concrete learning".

It is great that the teachers can understand and do your suggestions, That will help students have creativity in the learning process.
In my country there are very few programs like yours, Academic program of students who do not have in the natural skills, that only the subjects.
Last time, I was upset when I saw an article about a teacher punish students drinking water from the table wipes. But the teacher was not disciplined because she had a great deal of support behind her back.
