That's quite the pile of logs on the bay there! How did all that wood get there?

It's an interesting story, but not in a good way. When BC Hydro flooded the valley after they built the WAC Bennett Dam, they didn't think or care to clear the valley. After the water loosened up the soil on the bottom of the now very deep reservoir, the trees just started popping up to the top. That's over 50 years ago and they are still coming. For many years they had crews of men and cranes pulling the trees off and burning them 24/7, now they just come to the bay every year or two and pile them up to burn them.

Government caring at its best.

I can just imagine the cost and manpower involved with keeping the reservoir cleared now.
