But before starting the fun it is important that we know or remember a basic concept.

What is the Center of Gravity?

The center of gravity is the point where all the gravitational forces that are exerted on a body are found. It is the place where the sagittal, frontal and horizontal planes meet.

Materials:

• A cork

• Two wooden skewers

• A rule

• A base or a stack of books to hold the rule.

Process:

• On the sides of the cork insert the wooden skewers perpendicular so that they are aligned in the same direction but in the opposite direction

• Then we place the ruler on a base that holds it in a way that looks like a platform.

• Then we put our balancing cork to walk on the catwalk.

What happen?

The stable balance between the cork and the wooden spikes is achieved if the point of support is below the center of gravity.
