Let's start with a little concept of what it is to learn

"Learning is the process through which skills, abilities, knowledge, behaviors or values are modified and acquired as a result of study, experience, instruction, reasoning and observation." Wikipedia

Throughout this learning process, there are four phases that determine how much your level of learning is, knowing these phases will let you know what skills you have developed in some phases and what other skills in different phases.

The first phase is unconscious incompetence, in this phase you do not know what you do not know. We are not competent nor do we know what needs to be done. The phase of the accident is called. Suppose you drive without even knowing what the brake is or what the lever is for in the middle of the seats. You may have an accident if you can start the vehicle.

The second phase is conscious incompetence, in this phase you know what you know. You already know what the different elements of the vehicle are for, you know what the brake is for, where it accelerates, how to start the car, but you have not learned to drive yet.

The third phase is the conscious competence is the moment in which we have already learned to apply these elements. We take the wheel and start, we know how to brake, cross and park, but we have to be very focused on the procedure. Change speed, brake, traffic, etc.

After spending time in this phase, constantly praticar how to change the speed, acceleration, how to place the clutch passes to the final phase....

Unconscious competence, phase in which you already know and master some procedure or activity. We do not need to be focused and focused on the activity. You already drive with more skills and you can maneuver without constantly thinking about the driving process.

Imagine that you want to learn to dance, you need to develop a skill and know a series of aspects that make up the dance. Start in the phase of unconscious incompetence in which you do not know what you do not know, not knowing the steps, rhythms, or the different elements that are necessary to dance.

But with the practice and the passage of time, you already know what you have to do, what steps are involved, the different rhythms, the turns and the other aspects that you must know. This phase is the phase of conscious incompetence, you know everything you have to do but you are far from dancing.

And you continue in your dance and practice classes, there comes a day when you achieve it, and you are dancing, there is not much emotion but you are putting into practice what you have learned. This is the conscious competence phase because you are aware of what you are doing, you have to count the steps, listen to the music, try not to lose the rhythm, you must pay attention. In any oversight, you can step on your dance partner.

After continuing dancing and dancing, putting everything you learned into practice, you will be in the unconscious competence phase, you will develop an ability, a facility in your dance that you will not need to pay attention to when dancing, you will unconsciously. Congratulations you have integrated the experience in your life.

With these four phases you will learn to identify yourself in what stage you are and how you can work in it, whether cooking, piano, reading, writing, etc.
