Floccinaucinihilipilification
is one of the longest words in the English language. This word was coined to represent the estimation of something as valueless. Ironically, this word itself is valueless as it is not being used by the people regularly. In fact, many don't even know the existence of such a word. I will introduce a few more such long words-

  • Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis- a lung disease caused by the inhalation of silica or quartz dust.
  • Pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism- A technical term which represents a mild form of inherited pseudohypoparathyroidism
  • supercalifragilisticexpialidocious- A word used when you got nothing to say!
Now that you got a fair idea about these words. Now the question is how suitable it is to use kind of these words in your blogs? Do you thing it necessary to infiltrate tough words into your contents? I will explain.

All who read this very article are bloggers in one way or another as most of us have blogs on steemit or WordPress. You for sure know the importance of the Audience and the engagement. Will it happen if you write anything in the way you want? I have come across a lot of blog posts which failed to attract me in engaging with it. I got bored and ended up discontinuing reading such articles. The main reason being the usage of words!

Those authors who wrote those articles might have been native English speakers. But I think they had failed to understand the global nature of the internet. Those who read your articles are not just from the country you belong to, but they can be from many other countries where English is a second or third language. How can you expect them to be reading your tough to understand level of articles?

Some authors keep on creating articles which can never be understood even by the creator itself without the help of an Oxford dictionary. Then think about the common man who reads it. He/ she will surely give up continuing it. Not just about the language, even the subject we choose will have a good impact on the readability.

If you are writing articles to show off your vocabularies and the knowledge that you have on the English language, you sure are prone to be affected by the less viewership syndrome. If you use a simple language and write on a topic which can even be understood by a 5-year-old child, then the sky is the limit.

What and how one should write?

You can write anything you want. But make sure that it is understandable to the audience. If you aim at a bigger audience, you must write in a simple language. But if you are a scientist or some intellectual guy, you might not like the idea of publicity. In that case, you only need to convince a small number of audience who are of the same intellectual as of you. You can use as much tough words as you wish.

In either cases, you will be much appreciated if you use a very simple language.

Hope you will. I surely will.

writing in a simple and beautiful language is much more effective

Yes. Writing is an art. Writing something just for the sake of writing will produce garbages ( I agree that I wrote this article for the sake of writing.). If something comes out from our heart, the emotion can be easily catched.

very true
