Summer Fun in the South
In the South with its' months of hot humid weather the outdoors under big trees and the vision of wide green lawns is very inviting. The heat demands a slower pace and even a re-aligned schedule of activities during the summer months.
When possible schedules are geared to handling the most demanding outdoor tasks from very early in the morning until noon. Then, from noon until twilight everyone tries to be inside where it is air conditioned.
As the twilight takes hold, once again, there is much activity. From sports activities to barbecues and just friends enjoying each other's company. The summers are busy and great fun!
Below is a recipe for one of the most popular drinks when people get together in the South.
Our favorite Texas margarita recipe:
6 oz. tequila
12 oz. beer (any kind but we like the lighter beers for this)
1 small can frozen lime juice concentrate
Ice cubes
Blend
Dip rim of glass into lime juice and coat with margarita salt
Garnish with lime round.
