YL Food Travel#6 Japanese Meat & Potato Stew

Today I am going to share the dinner I cooked yesterday - Nikujaga (Japanese Meat & Potato Stew).


Japanese Meat & Potato Stew is really easy to cook.
It only used few ingredients.

Ingredient list: (for 2 person)
Thin-sliced Pork Belly - 180g
Oil - 1tsp

Potato - 300g
Carrot - 80g
Onion - 120g
Shirataki - 80g

Chicken Soup - 150ml
Cane Sugar - 1tbsp
Shoyu - 2tbsp
Shoyu - 1/2tsp


  1. Cut Potato(One bite size), Carrot(One bite size) and Onion as below
    (please ignore my poor drawing)


    2. Boil the Shirataki for 1min, take out and remove the water.
    3. Cut Shirataki into 5cm strips



    4. Add 1tsp oil into the pot, put the thin-sliced pork belly in!
    5. Keep stir-fry with full flame until the pork color change.
    6. Then, add potato, carrot, onion and shirataki in the pot.
    7. Keep stir-fry with full flame until the surface of potato turned to transparent.


    8.Add chicken soup and cane sugar in the pot with low/medium flame
    9. Cover the pot and stew for 2-3 mins
    10. Open the pot, add 2tbsp shoyu in and cover again!
    11. Stew for 8mins with low/medium flame
    12. Open the pot and add 1/2tsp shoyu and stir the ingredients from top to bottom for 2mins.
    13. Turn off the flame and put aside for 5mins. Then put on the dish
    FINISHED!!!


    I cooked too many Japanese Meat & Potato Stew yesterday. That's why I bring lunch box today, it is still delicious and match to mixed with rice :)




今天我要分享一下昨天煮的日式燉肉

日式燉肉其實很容易煮的, 因為這道菜只需要好幾樣材料!

材料表: (2人份量)
豬腩薄片 - 180克
油 - 1茶匙

薯仔 - 300克
蘿蔔 - 80克
洋蔥 - 120克
芋絲 - 80克

雞湯 - 150毫升
蔗糖 - 1湯匙
醬油 - 2湯匙
醬油 - 1/2茶匙

1. 先切薯仔(一口大小), 蘿蔔 (一口大小)及洋蔥(如上)
(請忽略我的爛畫功)
2. 滾水放芋絲, 滾1分鐘, 取水並去除水氣
3. 把芋絲切成5cm 條狀
4. 加1茶匙油到鍋裡, 放進豬腩薄片!
5. 一直用大火炒, 直至豬肉變色
6.然後, 加薯仔, 蘿蔔, 洋蔥跟芋絲
7. 用大火炒至薯仔表面變透明
8. 加入雞湯及蔗糖, 調到小/中火
9. 蓋上鍋蓋燉2-3分鐘
10. 打問鍋蓋並加入2湯匙醬油, 再次蓋上
11. 用小/中火燉8分鐘
12. 打開鍋蓋, 加1/2茶匙醬油然後把材料上下翻一下
13. 關火並放置5分鐘. 然後上碟啦!!!
完成啦!!

昨天煮了太多燉肉, 所以今天帶了午餐! 伴著飯吃真的很好吃 :D
