Pirate flag made of fiat and real money!!

In advance of #piratesunday, I came across this pirate flag that I just HAVE to share with the #steemsilvergold community!!!

While I was visiting Harrods in London, I came across this piece of art that is for sale.

The artist's name is Santiago Montoya. Nope, not the Columbian footballer (I know the 2018 FIFA World Cup is on!!). This artist is making art out of fiat money!!

Each of the black-looking pieces in the back ground are made of American dollars (i.e. fiat money). But this piece is special. It is not just fiat money. And the jolly rogers skull-and-bones is 24K gold (i.e. real money!!).

I must say, this guy is a genius in my books. Making art out of money (both fiat money and real money) and MAKING MORE MONEY out of his art!! I love this creativity, creating more out of the ordinary. That is what art is, and good art also makes you think. I believe this fits into his catalog of his earlier works, called 'The Great Swindle' on catalog, which I believe talks about fiat money.

Santiago can certainly buy a lot more gold and silver with each one sold. I know the artist don't usually get it all. Harrods takes a cut, Halcyon Gallery takes a cut (these two are probably the real pirates in the art trade). But I am sure Santiago himself will have a hefty payday with each piece sold!!
