# 265 - Botanic Garden

Continuing the Modern Commemoratives Dollar series, we will present you today the 1997 "Botanic Garden" graded by PCGS PR70 DCAM.

All coins of this series weight 26.73g with 90% silver purity. They were issued in Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated finish.

They will be presented in the order they were minted.

This coin was issued for the National Botanic Garden in Washington, DC. Based on the inscriptions the occasion was for the 165th anniversary, which took place two years prior in 1995.

The reverse of the coin portrays a single rose with a garland of roses encircling the rim of the coin above.

The obverse depicts the facade of the Botanic Garden without landscaping.

A total of 189,671 coins were minted in Philadelphia. The issue price was U$37.00. The actual price is around U$575.00 in this grade.
