Mary and I had a great time really digging into some of our people pleasing tendencies, where they came from, how we have approached overcoming it and what we do on a daily basis to make sure we are standing in our own strength. I hope there are some helpful nuggets in here for others who have struggled with this!

What is the Steem Sister Show All About?
We aim to bring more “non-crypto” related content to the Steem Blockchain. Although there is nothing wrong with this kind of content (@coruscate even posts on crypto related material sometimes) – we want to help create a better onboarding experience for new users. We talk a lot about attracting new users to the platform – but if the trending page is filled with crypto posts and flagging wars, they are likely to lose interest quickly.
We hope that by creating content that is more similar to what they are used to seeing on other social media sites – they will feel more excited about being here and creating content of their own!
How Does It Work?
We pick a different topic every episode, and then throw totally random questions about that topic in a hat and go back and forth. We always have a mix of our own questions and some audience questions. Our rule is that we cannot tell each other our answers before filming! So you guys are getting our raw, unfiltered reactions here.
Every episode we announce the next week’s topic so people can submit questions.

Next Week’s Topic : Feminism
It's kind of unfortunate that the word feminism seems to get a bad rep. I think on a fundamental level - most normal human beings will agree that men and women should have equal rights and access to opportunity. I think where this movement has gotten some bad press is some groups spin it in a way that degrades men. That is not in any way what we will be talking about in this episode - we will be talking about pure feminism that is really all about equal human rights.

So much of this brought up so much for me... that thought of whatever the group wanting is more important than what I want, is such a thing... which I realised wasn't so bad when the group I was hanging out with was so crazily opinionated that nothing could ever be decided... or ultimately someone would be disappointed. I think also, for food and stuff, I honestly just don't really care... I'm an eating machine... I'm only going to eat again in half an hour anyway.
I too got a bit damaged by family. My Mum is super aggressive... and my Dad and Sis would just agree and do their own thing (like Lea) but I'd stand up and fight for their rights... which they never really understood. I'm a total people pleaser... except with my Mum or really anyone I see as a bit of a bully.
Oh, I have so many thoughts on feminism, loved this post... and while you're not talking specifically about the 'man-hatin' side, I really do understand that too. Some men have hurt so many people, and some men often do say horrible things about women, where you figure they must hate women to say those things... but it's so common that we don't take offense nearly as readily as when a woman reverses it.
Ironically, it's usually during the times of hyper aggression (ie, WWII and war in Rwanda) that women have been able to make the most progress towards equality. That breaks my brain so hard.
Anyway, my question is:
If you got one wish from a feminism genie, what specific thing would you change?
Man, it's a shame 'feminism' has such strong reaction in people... we should just change the term to 'equalism'.
