Greg Monroe’s career has been a roller coaster, playing for different teams year after year. He couldn’t find a true home where he can start and show his true talent. After parting ways with the Detroit Pistons, Monroe couldn’t find the team that will fit his play style. This off-season, the 6-foot-11 265lbs veteran center agrees to a deal with the Toronto Raptors for one year according to the report of Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.

Monroe played five seasons for the Detroit Pistons who selected him number seven overall in the 2010 NBA Draft then he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks and played three seasons with the Bucks. After that he was then traded again to the Phoenix Suns and played only one season there before being signed by the Boston Celtics.
Monroe averaged 13.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists per game throughout his career shooting 51.5 percent from the field and 70.7 percent from the free throw line. He was traded by the Detroit Pistons because it seems that he and Andre Drummond does not fit with each other and his defense is not that good. Last season, Monroe played for the Boston Celtics and averaged 10.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game shooting 56.5 percent from the field and 73.9 percent from the free throw line. Monroe average 4.5 points and 3.2 rebounds for the Boston Celtics in the playoffs playing 9.5 minutes per game only.
Monroe has a chance now to prove himself again and show the true talent of a number seven overall pick. But I think that Monroe will have a difficult time finding his game because of the Toronto Raptors crowded frontcourt rotations. He will now join Jonas Valanciunas, Serge Ibaka and Pascal Siakam. It will be a great addition for the Toronto Raptors as they are now pushing for the finals now that they acquired the best two-way player in the NBA Kawhi Leonard. The Raptors’ chance of winning in the East might only be just now because Kawhi Leonard is likely to leave in 2019 after he becomes a free agent and play in Los Angeles. The Raptors must do all they can do not before Kawhi leaves the team and end up rebuilding.

Excellent publication I am new will we follow? In order to continue to appreciate your excellent work accounts with my vote I hope to have yours!

Monroe certainly adds a ton of front-court depth, but like you pointed out, I think it's going to be difficult for him to get much substantial playing time in that crowded frontcourt. It'll be interesting to see how the Raptors utilize him.

Man I miss having Moose in Milwaukee.
