The Braves try and force a game today against the Dodgers

The Major League Baseball playoffs continue today with more action in the National League when the Atlanta Braves face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:30pm Central Standard Time and the game can be seen on National Television on Fox Sports 1. It will take place at SunTrust Park in Atlanta, Georgia. The Dodgers are heavy favorites at -142 and the over/under is 8 runs. The Dodgers are leading the series 2-1 and a win today will clinch the division series.

The Atlanta Braves are in a must win situation today. They need to get the “W” to force a win or go home game 5 to advance to the N.L.C.S. They will send Mike Foltynewicz to the mound to save their season. The veteran right handed pitcher was the starter in game one and he was chased out of the game early. He only lasted two innings and gave up 4 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks. It was a terrible start to the season but today he can avenge his loss.

If the Braves are going to get to a game 5, their bats need to heat up. Freddie Freeman is the leader of this team and the first baseman is just batting .167 so far in this postseason. He has hit one home run but that is not enough.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are feeling good and have two chances to eliminate the Braves. They will send Rich Hill to the mound to try and get the job done. Hill has not pitched since September 30th and his arm is well rested. Hill relies heavily on his big curve ball and if he is on his game, he will frustrate the hell out of the Braves hitters.

Hitting has been a concern so far this postseason for the Dodgers. Manny Machado is only hitting .083 and Cody Bellinger is yet to get a hit. But if they can get to Foltynewicz early again and chase him out, the Dodgers will feast on a run down Braves bullpen.

The crowd in Atlanta will be fired up today and the atmosphere will be a wild one. They could make the difference in getting the Braves over the hump to force a game 5.
