Upsets In Final Week of Ice Cubes Big Three. Playoff Picture Set

The final week of the Big Three regular season is in the books. Week 8 out of 8 was set up as a mostly lopsided affair, pitting teams against each other whose fates had already been decided. The games all took place in Atlanta, and thankfully, the southern crowd was blessed with some exciting upsets on Friday evening.
The overall third and fourth-seeded teams, Three's Company and Tri-State, both lost to lower seeds in the last week of action. They now both end the regular season with 5-3 records, but their playoff positioning was ultimately unaffected.
The Killer Three's had a disheartening year plagued by behavior issues and unfocused play, but they showed up in the final game to take a 51-44 win over Three's Company. Stephen Jackson and Alan Anderson finally woke up with 22 and 16 points respectively. Baron Davis, who has been dealing with injury woes the whole season, still didn't suit up for his sputtering squad. Hopefully he'll be able to partake in the postseason next week.
Power and 3 Headed Monsters both took care of business against the two worst squads in the league, Ghost Ballers and Ball Hogs. Both of the top seeded teams defeated their opponents by a margin of 10+ points. After a series of lackluster performances, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf came alive for a 19 point, 2 rebound, and 4 assist performance to lead his team to vitory. In the other game, Cuttino Mobly played excellent for Power with an 18 point, 3 rebound, 4 assist, and 2 steal line.
It's too bad that playoff teams were already decided in the last two weeks of the regular season. Because of that, we didn't get to see an uber-competitive race to the finish between teams trying to squeak into the playoff hunt. Hopefully the playoffs will make up for the lack of drama that we saw in the home stretch of games.
The Big Three Playoffs are set to tip off at 6:00 PM CST in Dallas, Texas on next Friday 8/17. Games will be played on Fox Sports One per usual. I fully expect 3 Headed Monsters and Power to take care of the lower seeds they're faced against. Anything but a win for those two would be incredibly shocking.
