This is fascinating. I looked up therapeutic use of MSC cells (Google) in treatment of SLE and came up with this article. Apparently the therapy has been used for some time to treat refractory SLE. The beauty of this is, negative impact was minimal (fever, diarrhea, headache during infusion). Most of the treatments for (refractory) SLE take a much more severe toll.
