Hi steemians, today I will share information about radiodiagnostic service statistics at the Radiology Installation Teungku Chik Ditiro Sigli Hospital on the third week of Oktober 2018 (Oktober 22 - 28 2018). This data is the data that I collected from the service at the Radiology Installation.

Examination With Ultrasound Modalities (Esaote MyLab40)

This equipment is used to examine internal organs by utilizing high sound waves (Ultrasound). The weakness of this equipment is not good enough in imaging the organs of bones and organs that contain air like the lungs. One of the advantages of this equipment is that it does not use X-rays so it is very safe for patients. In addition, the price of the equipment and inspection costs are also cheap. Broadly speaking, the organs that can be examined with this modality are soft tissue organs such as, the organs in the stomach.

Examination With Conventional X-Ray Modalities (Toshiba Winmind KXO 50 XM)

This is the most common equipment used in radiology examinations. This conventional X-ray modality utilizes X-rays as a source of radiation. The image formed on the film or on the monitor is produced from the X-ray emission process that has passed through the patient's body, then X that has passed through the body is captured by the image receptor (film or detector).

Examination With Panoramic & Cephalometric Modalities (Orthopantomograph OP200 D)

This is a radiological modality for examining teeth and bone forming teeth (maxilla and mandible). This modality also utilizes X-rays as a source of radiation. The way this modality works is exactly the same as in conventional X-ray modalities.

Examination With Computed Tomography (CT) Scanning Modalities (Philips Ingenuity CT 128 Slice)

This is a modality for examining organs that cannot be reached by conventional X-ray modalities. This modality is superior to examining bones, heart and organs in the body. All organs can be examined with this modality, but on certain examinations such as the soft tissue organ, the resulting image is still not maximal.

In the above data it can be concluded that in the past two weeks there has been a decrease in the number of examinations using conventional Ultrasound (USG) and X-ray modalities, but there has been an increase in the number of examinations using CT modalities. This happened because since October 2018 the policy of the National Health Insurance provider regarding the mechanism of referral of patients to the Type B Hospital had to go through the Type C Hospital first. So the patient was first handled at the first level health care center (the Community Health Center).
If it cannot be served at a first-rate service center, the patient is referred to a type C hospital (the Hospital is higher than the first-level service center), as well as if the patient is still unable to be treated in a type C hospital, referred to the hospital type B, and so on.
Because of this policy, type B hospitals, such as Teungku Chik Ditiro Sigli Hospital, felt a decrease in the number of patients.

From this data it can be concluded that patients with ages 25 - 44 years and 45 - 64 years are very susceptible to disease, so many radiological examinations are carried out. Many patients over 65 years old actually need radiological examinations, because we know that the total population of Aceh people over 65 years of age is not as many as the Acehnese population aged 45-64 years.

Once again, the data cannot lie, here we can see clearly the number of male patients who need more radiology services than female patients.
