Hello to all the friends of this wonderful community in this opportunity I am talking about a galaxy called Boötes II, I hope you like this publication and that it is to your liking.

Source

Bootes II It is a dwarf galaxy of the spherical type and was discovered in 2007 by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, a high-end spectroscope located in New Mexico. This galaxy is at a distance of approximately 42 kpc away from the Sun and tends to move towards the Sun at a speed of 120 km / s. This is classified as a spheroidal and dwarf galaxy that means it has a round shape with a half-light radius of 51 pcs.

The Bootes II galaxy is one of the smallest and weakest satellites in the Milky Way, its luminosity capacity is approximately 1,000 times that of the Sun, it has an absolute visible magnitude of approximately -2.7, this is much more lower than the luminosity of most globular clusters. But nevertheless, the mass that contains the galaxy is substantial that corresponds to the mass ratio of light of more than 100.

The star population of the galaxy called Bootes II consists mainly of many stars that are moderately ancient that were formed about 10 to 12 billion years ago. The metallicity of these old stars is very low, and they contain 80 times less heavy elements than the sun itself. Currently, there is no star formation in the Bootes II galaxy. So far, the measurements have not been able to detect neutral hydrogen, the upper limit is only 86 solar masses.

Bootes II is only 1.5 degrees away from another dwarf galaxy, as is Boötes I, although it is very unlikely that they are physically associated because they move in different directions that are very opposite in relation to the so-called Milky Way. Its relative speed is about 200 km / s, it is quite high. It is much more likely to be associated with the current of Sagittarius and therefore, with the elliptical dwarf galaxy called Sagittarius. The Bootes II galaxy may be a satellite galaxy of SagDEG or one of its stellar clusters that are plucked from the main galaxy that is about 4-7 billion years ago
