2 cogent reasons why AI won't replace humans

in #steemstem6 years ago

We’ve been to read books and see films, and we have the impression that soon, perhaps in our lifetimes, the robots will be able to do most things humans do and takeover humans.
Thinking machines will outsmart us, and we’ll be relegated to the role of secondary citizens. OK, but not really.
Robots may be good, but they’re not going to takeover anytime soon. However, what isn’t an exaggeration is the growing role of robots in the workforce nowadays . According to a March 2017 report on automation in the workplace by PricewaterhouseCoopers, as many as 30 percent of jobs in the UK, 38 percent of jobs in the US, 35 percent of jobs in Germany, and 21 percent of jobs in Japan are at risk of being replaced by machine-based automation by the early 2030s. So, the robots may not be taking over, but they are taking a significant percentage of jobs.
This is not to criticize bots and automation are entirely bad, they absolutely do have their role to play in the modern industry. But as for AI completely Taking over humans in the workforce, well, i just don’t see it coming or happening . Here are two points that robots will never fully replace humans in workforce.

Robots Don’t Understand Irrational Thought
Artificial intelligence (AI) works on logic. It’s rational, but people are anything but. So, asking a rational presence to successfully work with an irrational one is a calling for disaster. Consider the improvements of social media chat bots, which are programmed to give answers to questions based onwhat has been pre- programmed on it. That’s fine, but when people engage with Robots in chats , they do not always need a rationalor logical answer, they want understanding and emotion, and they want to know that their feelings are valid and justified and well communicated. Even the smartest Robot chat bot can’t do that, or let's say it can’t do it convincingly, with feeling and humanity. Verily, replacing people with chatbots may look like a very great idea if we are taking strict financial situation into consideration , but from a customer satisfaction view, it’s going to be unsuccessful.
Robots Don’t Understand Context
In all types of interpersonal communication, understanding cultural norms and slang is very vital to understanding. If you’ve ever had a relation from a country halfway around the world, you already know that some things are lost in translation. Humans either understand context (because they grew up within it or because they learned it), and robots just don’t. Furthermore, because of robots' inability to consider context , they’re less suited to analysis work.
Robots Don’t Understand Customer Service Jumping off of the first point about irrational thought, Robot always goes for the most practical concerned solution without any consideration of how that might have effect future customer relationships.
“Human interaction is irreplaceable when
providing superior customer service,” said Jacob Munns, CEO, Boomsourcing. “, customers and potential customers still expect exceptional communication from the brands they patronize. Human communication from customer service teams is becoming one of the leading element that stands as a differentiator in the competitive landscape. It is also an indicator of customer acquisition and retention long term. The future is about utilizing or fussing humans with technology…not just technology. Humans should be the head or brain behind the technology we depend on, or we will lose the connections we seek.”
Robots has no emotion, they’re capable only of data function. That’s okay for tasks that don’t depend on the complexities of human relationships, but for responding to customers or interacting with customers who are potentially emotionally volatile, Humans only have these solutions not AI
ROBOTS CAN'T SOLVE CREATIVE PROBLEMS
I would welcome contradictory opinions
