Alcohol destroys dangerous areas of the body such as the heart, brain etc. It also triggers the risk of different cancers and renders the immune system powerless thereby makes people vulnerable to various diseases.
Excess Alcohol kills.
Despite the fact that alcohol has so many negative effects, we are not so surprised that we have people around us addicted to it. This has to stop. Withdrawal of Alcohol must not done at once. It must be done gradually. If it is not done at a slow process it can have a great effect and possibly death. Because of the bad experiences of withdrawal of alcohol, most people even take more alcohol than before.

Alcohol alters the production of neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters transmit information through nerve cells.When a person addicted with alcohol suddenly stop, there is excess production of neurotransmitters which is more than what the body needs. This excess production of the neurotransmitters is responsible for different symptoms of alcohol withdrawal such as increase in heart rate, feeling uncomfortable etc.
Excess production of the neurotransmitters also makes some organs such as the heart hyperactive. Gradual intake of alcohol depletes the heart structure such as muscle rigidity and flexibility.
Excess alcohol causes electrolyte imbalances which results into acute renal failure. Sudden Withdrawal of alcohol can also result into Kidney failure.

The reason is because alcohol reduces the production of anti-diuretic hormone(ADH), so excess amount of alcohol makes you urinate and become dehydrate.

STOPI think you want to read regarding one of the most dangerous side effects of alcohol withdrawal which is called Delirium tremens. It imposed a certain level of difficulty for an alcoholic to stop drinking which is why quitting alcohol should be done in an appropriate step.
