SteemSTEM Distilled #96

in #steemstem5 years ago

After 2 months of absence, welcome to the 96th issue of SteemSTEM Distilled, a curation effort by the members of the @steemstem team.

We have tried to make the distilled a routine again. Really. But we failed because of physics. Whilst not fully back on tracks yet, here is a short distilled of what happened last week!

In the meantime, feel free to meet us on the SteemSTEM discord server.

We present in this distilled our top two handpicked post choices for the last week (from several hundreds of STEM-related posts on Steem). This week's distilled highlights were selected by @lemouth. Statistics are given at the end of this post.

Please do not be discouraged if you did not make it on this issue. The chances to be picked are low. In the meantime, you may wish to check these guidelines for extra tips on how your writing could be more effective.

Our top choices

Are Gender Stereotypes Accurate?

Stereotypes are getting a lot of traction today, all over the world. @alexander.alexis discussed gender stereotype and starts an interesting debate about their potential (in)accuracy, scientifically speaking. In addition, his post will allow you to learn more about some hidden master of chicks, on top of feminists' thoughts, and where gender differences are more (or less) important.

The History of Mendeleev and the development of the Periodic Table

If you like the history of science, you will like this last post from @empressteemah about the work of Medeleev and how he got to his famous table. This post will also show how he made great predictions about the existence of new elements (in the sense of showing an element should exist before it was discovered).

Great to see distilled back. I know it's just two posts. But this is great. A ray of hope. 🙂

I hesitated as I could have featured 4 posts in total. However, we had only 40 entries last week so that I decided to reduce the number of picked choices to 2 (this is 5 % after all). In other words, for more posts, we need more authors ;)

This is great!

Thanks for the feature, @lemouth.
Congratulations, @alexander.alexis and greetings to all the authors that constitute this great community.

I wish steemstem more progress and success.
You guys rock! ✊

Congratulations, @empressteemah. It's actually a great post. I hope my post also get featured someday.

Well-done, @lemouth and the entire steemstem management. Keep it up.

If you want to know, you were not far, but the bar has to be put somewhere.

PS: Maybe you did not want to know... then it is too late :D

Thanks for the nice words and once again, congratulations foe having been selected!

Might only be two posts featured, but at least Distilled is back! Nice work @lemouth!

With 40 supported posts per week, I believed that 2 was a maximum to advertise. Although I could have included four of them easily.

Thanks for this!

Best
