SteemSTEM Distilled #108

in #steemstem5 years ago

Hard forks make distilled delayed... However, we are happy to be able to say that our witness (@stem.witness) has only missed one single block during the mess. There are advantages in being low in the rankings. Anyways, let's go back to business with our 108th distilled.

Before presenting the top two handpicked post choices of @lemouth and some statistics, we are happy to display the best SteemSTEM articles that have been found by our (English-speaking) curators last week:

@joshmanSTEEM Course: IPv4 Routing Primer (Part 1)
@egotheistChanging the narrative – how to talk about climate change

Interested in being part of that list, please check these guidelines or ask for a mentor on Discord or on the Steem Chat.

Our top choices

Do you want to know the common ground between 105 and 108? Here it is... ;)

Presenting a whole new organ in skin to sense pain

@scienceblocks resurrected his mice and here we go again for a new episode of his journal club series. This time, he discussed a discovery on pain and how Schwann cells could help getting information on it. Do you want to know more about pain, those fancy Schwann cells and the skin? Then this post is four you!

Reflections on Anger

@abigail-dantes is back with her weekly psychology post. This time, she discusses anger and frustration and how it affects us at various level. In any case, it is important to (at least try to) prevent anger from surfacing! Please do not hesitate to pass by her post to get more information!

Hey @steemstem! Thanks so much for what you do for the Steem community. As a token of appreciation your post has received a 100% free vote from @ocdb.

For transparency purposes I'll drop this link here in case anyone wants to read more about @ocdb's manual curation.

Thanks a lot for your support! This is warmly appreciated!

I am 100% sure that it is and will be forever the best scientific project in the blockchain. Maybe we need a little more support but I am sure that more people will soon be willing to contribute to this great community

I hope so! We won't resign in any case :)

Here you are, steadfastly applying some of the glue that holds the community together. This is the best community on the platform, hands down, and @ocdb's support acknowledges that. Your featured authors are stars, and deserve the recognition.

I'm going to head out and read some of the new material this week. I see, for example, that @gra has a piece on rivers. Can't wait to read that.

Thanks for giving us another issue of SteemSTEM Distilled.
Tweeting it out and resteeming.

Thanks! :)

Thank you @lemouth, thank you @steemstem. For your invaluable encouragement and support. You truly make this place home for me! And as always, it’s very humbling to feature alongside @scienceblocks and his engaging, funny, informative work!

Congratulations to the authors who featured in the last issue, as well as all the others who have been supported by the community.

All the best everyone :)
